This morning saw the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which will hit theaters December 13, and it would see fans might be getting an extended cut of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey around the same time as we’ve know one would be released some time this year and today the MPAA announced an official rating for the project.
As for ratings for new films hitting theaters over the coming months, we already knew James Wan‘s The Conjuring would be getting an R rating as there have already been stories saying it was simply too scary to get a PG-13.
The Lone Ranger, however, may have intense action, but not intense enough as it received the none-too-surprising PG-13.
We also recently saw the first official trailer for Runner, Runner starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake and it has received an R rating today along with The Spectacular Now starring Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller and the Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis comedy We’re the Millers, which seems rather strong, receiving a rating for crude sexual content, pervasive language, drug material and brief graphic nudity.
